Client: Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP)
Date: March 2021
Format: Remote Event Activation – ‘Carnival in a Box’
Recipients: 700 Families
In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, YA Events collaborated with KDSP to reimagine their annual World Down Syndrome Day celebration. With large-scale gatherings restricted, we supported the execution of ‘Carnival in a Box’—a creative, contactless initiative that extended the spirit of the carnival to 700 families within the KDSP network.
Each curated box was filled with themed activities, treats, and surprises, offering families a safe yet joyful way to celebrate at home. This thoughtful pivot ensured that the tradition of inclusion and festivity continued, despite the limitations of the time.
Aligned with KDSP’s 2021 campaign theme, “Connect with Down Syndrome,” the event encouraged society to engage meaningfully with individuals with Down syndrome. The campaign also featured a powerful awareness video showcasing the bond between a young boy and his elder sister with Down syndrome. The video challenged societal misconceptions and beautifully portrayed individuals with Down syndrome as capable, nurturing, and deeply connected members of their families.
This initiative reflects YA Events’ agility in event innovation and our continued commitment to supporting inclusive, purpose-driven experiences, even in unprecedented times.
